Abstract

A lichenometric survey in the Baksan River Basin found that the cessation of mudflow activity in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries coincided with a prolonged cold period. Mudflow activity has increased in the present century possibly due to anthropogenic activities. - (DWG)
