Abstract

This article asserts that Bhutan's future economic development depends on selling hydroelectricity to India and Bangladesh. The country's four major river systems have a total potential of generating 16.6. billion KWh of energy per year. However, a reliable data base on rainfall, sedimentation and glacier hydrology is still lacking. - (DWG)
