Abstract

An historical geography of the immigration of Dutch from the Noord-Brabant municipalities of Uden, Zeeland and Boekel to the Green Bay-Fox River Valley area of northeastern Wisconsin. The Dutch part of their heritage rapidly assimilated into a broader identity as American Catholics that included people of several ethnic origins. Rather than preserving ethnicity, the Church was a major force for Americanization. - (DWG)
