Abstract

The Pebble Transmitter System (PETS) which involves pebbles containing transmitters was tested at the Lainbach station in Bavaria in 1988. It offers several new approaches to investigate particle movement. It can be applied either as a cheap system to follow the tracered material even in large rivers and after several floods, or to monitor the movement of single particles or a small number of particles in great detail
