Abstract

The aim of this paper is to point out that pollen analysis of a vertical section from a so-called " plaggen soil " may be of use in tracing the consecutive events known from the agricultural history of the area. For such a study, however, a reference pollen diagram constructed from an adjacent and synchronous terrigene deposit is indispensable.
