Abstract

Heat stress characteristics are examined in terms of diurnal distribution, spatial distribution, duration and modification by air movement. It is concluded that, although higher dry bulb summer temperatures occur in southwestern Oklahoma resulting in uncomfortable conditions during an average summer day, higher health risks are associated with the slightly cooler but more humid north-central and northeastern portions of the state
