Abstract

In this study rural industry above all is analysed as a part of a livelihood strategy of households. Livelihood strategy most of the time exists of various activities among with besides different forms of agriculture, one or more non-agricultural activities| besides local also extra-local activities and besides activities directed to the market also activities directed to selfsupport. So the livelihood strategies of rural households exist of a continuous weithting between different goals, possibilities and limitations as a result of constantly changing circumstances. Rural industrialisation is just one aspect in their vision and not an aim in itself. - (AGD)
