Abstract

Weathering of limestone debris is described in southeast Morocco. The dominant features are due to surface and subsurface solution. Mechanical weathering and aeolian action have only a limited effect. Microfeatures produced by solution include solution facetting, microrills, solution pits, case-hardening, micropitting or " vesicular weathering " and possibly surface crazing. Such microforms are the most likely representatives of a truly arid karst
