Abstract

Experimental results of soil shear strength measurements using different instruments : a drop-cone penetrometer, a laboratory vane apparatus and a pochet vane apparatus. The main differences in splash detachment relations seem to depend on differences in shear strength measurements due to instruments. Incipient rilling conditions are clearly reduced to a single relation between critical shear velocity ans soil shear strength. Soil detachability is strictly linked to soil. Its measurement may substitute other more empirical estimates of soil erodibility
