Abstract

A schema based on the nature of spatial displacement is used to differentiate international circulation and emigration intentions and ensuing behaviours of international mobility (and immobility). Spatial displacement is interpreted in broad terms, incorporing time, psychological perspectives and information acquisition. The result is a series of generalizable situations presented as a hypothetical set of contemporary Caribbean mobility relations with the dominant United States destination, New York City. - (DB)
