Abstract

This analysis is a first attempt to solve the controversial problems related to inner city " slum " clearance and squatter problems. The sense of urban spatial inequality in Japan was nourished mainly by four kinds of interurban areal differentiation. The political counter action to relieve this inequality was assumed under the initiative of the central or metropolitan governements. - (SGA)
