Abstract

Nineteenth-century reformers who weaned geography teaching in the USA away from rote methods included R. Davidson, N. Hedges, W. Woodbridge and A. Guyot. But, in so doing, they were also uncritical in their acceptance of environmental determinism. - (DWG)
