Authors(s) and Affiliation(s)

Three types of fronts: the Pacific Polar front (Bain front), Eurasian Polar front and Siberian-Canadian Arctic front. Ten-day locations of each front, and precipitation distribution are compared. The Pacific Polar frontal zone which stagnates over Central China and southern coast of Japan during the Bain season, shifts north from mid-July to mid-August. It brings much rain over North China Plain, Primosky and Sakhalin during mid-summer. While, the locations of other frontal zones change little during the Bain and mid-summer. Schematic circulation patterns during the Bain and mid-summer season are presented.
