Abstract

A new delimitation is suggested for the central part of the highest karst mountains of Hungary. It is a well-defined karst water unit with marginal springs bordered by steep denudation steps preformed by lithological contrasts. The High Bükk is defined as a planation surface above 650-700 m. (DLO).
