Abstract

The paper furnishes an analysis of the network and geographical fabric of interlocking directorates in South Africa. Large business enterprises in South Africa exhibit a high level of interconnections through directorates, with the network becoming denser around the major banks and mining houses. Overwhelmingly Johannesburg is the core of the system. (AJC).
