Abstract

The sixties and the first half of the seventies, were characterized by the fastest growth in the number of foreign companies locating an establishment. A marked decline became apparent between 1976 and 1981. The most important country of origin is the USA, followed by West Germany and the United Kingdom. The majority of the foreign companies were involved in commerce. In the seventies new activities in the field of computers and photo-copying equipment have been established. At the same time a dispersal of establishments took place. (AGD).
