Abstract

Systematic biweekly profiling of seven subaerial, low-energy beaches was conducted for 13 months between Ashdod and Ziqim. The detailed beach level data were computer-processed and plotted as paired sequences for further analysis of clusters of similar configurational changes and erosive or accretional trends. The data groups into six distinctive transformational modes, together with characteristic swept prisms and instantaneous morphologics. The findings, which indicate large simultaneous beach variability, are interpreted and displayed in a classification format.
