Der Standort ehemaliger Dorfer in Berlin (West) zwischen Trocken-und Feuchtland. (La localisation des anciens villages à Berlin (Ouest) entre les terres sèches et humides)

Authors(s) and Affiliation(s)

In the second half of the 19th century and in the early 20th century villages surrounding Berlin became the nuclei around which the extremely rapid growth of the metropolis was concentrated. The village houses were located at the contact of dryland and wetland. The village area normally comprised parts of both. The better drained dryland was used for crops, whereas the wetland was mainly left to livestock production. Wet zones are classified as areal, linear or dispersed, and the former villages of Berlin (West) are grouped according to this classification.
