Modélisation statistique de la relation climat/mortalité en France de 1949 à 1977

Abstract

An attempt is made to examine connections between climatic elements and human mortality rates in France. Mortality time series has been based on data recorded by "necrological year" (August-July) from 1949 to 1977. Multiple regression analysis shows that the best indicator of climate is the number of days on which temperature falls under 12 C at the reference station of Orléans. A significant correlation was found between this climatic indicator and mortality rate.
