Abstract

The dinantian in the "Fenêtre de Theux" is part of a major recumbant fold, the Namurian core of which was cut by the Pepinster 1,2 and Soiron boreholes. The hinge of syncline is thought to lie in the Visean at Theux, thrown up by fault on a level with the normal limb. The Black Marble of Theux is said to belong to the Terwagne Formation (V 1 b). As usual at this level, the Marble is not tectonised but slumped.
