Abstract

Outside Albania, the largest number of Albanians lives in Yugoslavia. Since ancient times, this people has been a victim of various attemps at cultural and political domination rumanian, slavic, turkish which have led to emigration to Greece, southern Italy, Rumania, Yugoslavia and, during the 19th an 20th centuries, the United States. Everywhere, Albanians have conserved their national traits (language and traditions). They are not disappearing for their birthrate is one of the highest in the world (25-30/1000).
