Abstract

A natural gas deposit of the jointable-reservoir type was formed in the intramontane Rotliegende of a local subsaliniferous structure due to fracture tectonics. The genesis of the gas is outlined. The gas goes back to incoalation underlying Silesian sediments. The process of incoalition as well as sandstone and mudstone diagenesis can be reconstructed by means of the settling. For the time being the incoalating gases dispersed and were bound down at the end of the settling. Only young fracture deformations led to a mobilization of the dispersed incoalition gases by efficient joint systems. This process is studied in detail and described in the form of a model of migration and accumulation up to the formation of the recent gas deposit of the jointable-reservoir type.
