Abstract

The use of the IR-range in remote sensing represents an important increase in possibilities of geophysical researching. Especially imaging methods like IR-photography and thermography show some advantages in the investigation of the reflection-and emission-behaviour of the earth's surface. Potential sinkholes are connected with some direct and indirect anomalies at the earth's surface, which can be detected by IR-remote sensing methods. By means of the common use of IR-photography and thermography in the reconnaissance of sinkholes one can localize very effectively limited areas for further groundborne geophysical indications.
