Abstract

Geographers have been increasingly involved in emergency medical-services planning. Of particular importance has been the application of location-optimizing models that minimize ambulance-response time. There has been little research on the importance of response time and its clinical impact. Response time is confirmed as a determinant of patient outcome by the use of emergency medical system in Seattle as a case study.
