Abstract

The thin discontinuous periglacial deposits are considered first with regard to their polygenic pedological characteristics (clay with flint solifluction gravel, frost chattered limestone, loessic cover). Then the artefacts are studied: chopper-cores, protolevallois-cores, corticol flakes together with a few handaxes| an assemblage which suggests acheulean knapping floors. These artefacts display several post knapping physical and chemical marks. At last a local chronostratigraphic skeme is put forward.
