Thanks tot his second round of a follow-up study, we can compare the plans and behaviour concerning the number of children after an interval of two and a half years. Three results emerge: 1. The agreement between plans and behaviour is stronger among women who did not wish to have any other children than among those who wished to have another one. 2. This agreement is stronger where the plans refer to the nearer future 3. This agreement is weaker among the wives of blue collar workers than among those of white collar workers or supervisors. In a third round of the study which well take plan five years after the first, we shall measure the difference between the actual number of births and the number foreseen.
