Abstract

Several climatic, hydrological and hydrogeological 100-year time series, in France, were analysed. This analysis brings out quite clear long-term variation tendencies. No general curve change of the climatic factors of water resources over the last few hundred years is noticed: queries had been made on this subject during the exceptional 1976 drought. The deficit of groundwater feeding, the low water runoffs, and the "agricultural droughts" due to a non-parallelism of the interannual winter and summer rainfall variations, are shown to be relatively independent one of the other. The absence of a cyclic character of these variations is confirmed, but the excessive or deficient pluriannual sequences are ascertained.
