Abstract

The author describes CharlesRabotsBre as a small, steep glacier with an exceptionally well-developed drainage pattern. Deeply incised channels, many of which have highly sinuous meanders, and moulins are common| because of the stagnant nature of the ice, they survive from year to year. The factors affecting the development of the supra-glacial drainage system, and its relationship with open and closed crevasses, foliation and stratification are discussed, and several stages of evolution are recognized.
