Abstract

This paper deals with the only one daily inundated salt marsh in Belgium. Its history during the last century is one of deterioration and regression, caused by many kinds of destruction. Several species haved disappeared, the vegetation has totally changed, and is now by far dominated by Agropyron pungens| the typical salt marsh communities are merely relictual. A vegetation map has been drawn in summer 1975, based on more than 40 relevés. A few measures for future management are mentioned briefly. (LW).
