Abstract

AUSTRALIAN SILCRETES ARE MADE OF TWO PARTS: CLASTIC DEBRIS ISSUED FROM NEIGHBOURING LATERITIZATION SILICA. SAHARIAN ONES CONSIST OF SILICA AND CALCITE PROCEEDING FROM ATLASIC HILLS WEATHERING. DEPOSITION HAS HAPPENED IN ENDOREIC OR PIEDMONT BASINS UNDER HOT AND CONTRASTED CLIMATES. THE CASE OF THE BASIN OF PARIS GRINDSTONE IS QUITE THE SAME.
