Abstract

PREPARATION OF THE RIVER BED AND BANKS FOR MAINTENANCE WORK, AND RESIZING, RESHAPING AND CORRECTION OF THE RIVER BED HAVE MANY ADVERSE AND RELATIVELY FEW BENEFICIAL EFFECTS ON FISH LIVE AND ENVIRONMENT. TO PRESERVE FISH-FARMING INTERESTS, THEREFORE, IT IS NECESSARY TO BE FAMILIAR WITH ECOLOGICAL REQUIREMENTS, TO INTEGRATE THE CORRESPONDING DATA IN THE PROJECT DESIGN STUDIES, AND TO FRAME ADEQUATE REGULATIONS AND ADOPT SUITABLE TECHNICAL MEASURES AT THE IMPLEMENTATION STAGE. TECHNICAL MEASURES REQUIRED RELATE TO TIMING OF HYDRAULIC OPERATIONS AND ADDITIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORK SPECIFICALLY IN THE INTEREST OF FISH LIFE, E.G. SPAWNING GROUNDS, FISH HABITATS UNDERNEATH ARTIFICIAL RIVER BANKS, ETC.
