Abstract

Landslide activity is known to be common in the Western Cape mountains. The important causes for slope failure were found to be lithology and break in slope angle. The spatial distribution of landslides appears to be closely related to contact of sandstone and granite where the rock scarp meets the debris slope. - (AJC)
