Abstract

Essayist questions if Carl Sauer, the father of American cultural geography, can remain relevant in a new century of high technology, amorality, clipped English, and decreasing knowledge of nature. He predicts the decline of Sauer's influence, but he hopes that a younger geographer will resurrect it. - (SLD)
