Abstract

This paper is a multidisciplinary study, which aims to establish a long-term landscape development of a coastal area. The AA. define the type and timing of the events responsible for the genesis of the Serra Gelada sea cliffs. In addition, the recent development has been examined, the relevance of tectonic activity during the Quaternary is discussed and its possible repercussion on the present-day morphology of the Serra Gelada is assessed
