Abstract

This study focuses on the Cutler Dam Alloformation (AF), which is interpreted to have been deposited in a lake that occupied the Bonneville basin during the early Wisconsin. The AA. employ a relatively new Quaternary dating technique, optically stimulated luminescence, to better constrain the age of the Cutler Dam AF. The luminescence ages are supported by new accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) C 14 ages and amino acid geochronology on ostracode shells from the same stratigraphic section. The ostracode faunas provide an accurate reconstruction of the depositional environments. These data contribute to an improved understanding of the timing and causes of lake-level fluctuations in the Bonneville basin
