Abstract

First, it is important to acknowledge that channel and valley properties respond to long-term effects of climate change and tectonic activity and, secondly, in the short-term, information on the intrinsic characteristics and evolution of rivers are required to explain gradual processes. This review will consider both of these levels for published work for the year 2000 and first six months of 2001
