Abstract

Geographers' active engagement in development issues in contemporary South Africa is recorded against the background of trends in international and national geographical literature. Reference to changing theories, methodologies and viewpoints over the past decades and their connection with global and national events shows that a geography of development has emerged in academe. - (AJC)
