Abstract

The AA. describe the tributary mouth sedimentation sites of the Kuiseb Valley near Homeb to illustrate slack water paleoflood hydrology. They document that the Homeb sites do not represent drier climates and weaker floods in the valley during the Last Glacial Maximum, LGM, but that they are records of big floods with tributary backflooding that were caused by more frequent precipitation events in the Kuiseb catchment during the LGM
