Authors(s) and Affiliation(s)

The aim of this paper is to assist biogeographers in employing spatial models and analysis in formulating and testing hypotheses in cases that may involve introgression. First, the A. reviews the best known spatial introgression models, modifying and extending them to eliminate problematic assumptions and to fit real-world geographical exigencies. Then, he illustrates how such models can be applied to research problems including hypothesis testing. Finally, the A. proposes an invasion rule based on a model of the effects of crop-weed introgression, and offer a few concluding comments
