Abstract

Spatial and temporal distribution of precipitations and its effect on the flood development is explained. Most important was occurence of two consecutive cyclones bringing extreme precipitations to the same area within one week. The flood peak flows return period reached very high values in the Vltava River catchment witch could not be largely affected by reservoirs of Vltava River Dam Cascade. - (MS)
