Abstract

The AA. carried out a comprehensive series of analyses to assess the influences of the degree of glaciation, the position of the Equilibrium Line Altitude, ELA, and the selection of drainage basin versus an arbitrary region, on the hypsometry of glaciated landscapes. They selected field sites in the western USA (Sierra Nevada, California; western Sangre de Cristo Range, Colorado) and the South Island of New Zealand (Ben Ohau Range) in order to isolate each of these factors and assess the influence of each on hypsometry and thus landscape form
