Climate change on the Yucatan Peninsula during the Little Ice Age


Here, the AA. report a continuous oxygen isotopic record from Aguada X'caamal in northwestern Yucatan for the past 2600 yr. They found an important change in the hydrology of Aguada X'caamal in the mid-15th century. By comparing Aguada X'caamal to other links sediment and historical records in Mesoamerica, they conclude that climate became drier on the Yucatan Peninsula near the start of the Little Ice Age, LIA
