Abstract

The experimental basins of Draix in the southern French Alps have been monitored since 1984 in order to quantify and analyse the incidence and patterns of erosion in the badlands developed on Black Marl formations. This paper summarises the main results obtained during the rainfall simulations and analyses how the rainfall-runoff-erosion behaviour is linked to the geomorphological nature of the slopes. Then the runoff and erosion measurements during natural rainfall are presented and discussed
