Sediment delivery and accumulation in a developed area during coastal floods

Authors(s) and Affiliation(s)

The aim of this research is to explore whether sediment is conveyed into developed areas by coastal floods, to evaluate how human modifications to the landscape affect the movement of water, and to assess whether any sediment that is delivered remains after water ebbs away. The physical setting of the research site is described, and literature on salt marsh sedimentation is reviewed. Then methodological approaches for studying human-influenced systems are applied to expectations stemming from salt marsh research and the characteristics of the study site
