Document title

Soil aggregation response to long- and short-term differences in rainfall amount under arid and Mediterranean climate conditions

Authors(s) and Affiliation(s)

The study was carried out at 7 research sites along a climatic transect extending from the Judean Mountains towards the Dead Sea in Israel. These sites represent 4 climatic regions. The AA. aim to investigate the long-term influence of mean climatic conditions on soil structure; the sensitivity of various soil structural variables to short-term (annual) variations in rainfall amount and the relationships between soil structure and the soil properties that control it. The main conclusion is that microparticles percentage, MIP, is the best indicator for assessing the impact of the expected climate change on soil structure and erosion
