Abstract

Glacial sediments of the Pomeranian Phase to the Vistulian Glaciation, as studied in North-Eastern Germany, are characterized by great homogeneity where analyses of the treatment and degree of rounding of sandy-fraction quartz grains are concerned. Heavy-minerals analysis also points to the market similarity of the sediments examined. The results of all the analyses carried out preclude the activity of intensive aeolian processes, either before the Vistulian ice-sheet advancement during the Pomeranian Phase or on the foreland of the frontal moraine zone. - (BJ)
