Abstract

The aim was to assess the effects of land use and duration of fallow (cropland/young fallow, shrub fallow, tree-fallow, forest) on soil physical and chemical properties (profile morphology, dry bulk density, clay content, organic matter, total N, C/N, pH, CEC, P). Changes in these soil properties were studied over 3-8 years at 2 sites in the humid tropics with different calcareous soil types
