Geographic variations in particle size distribution of the last interglacial pedocomplex S1 across the Chinese Loess Plateau : their chronological and pedogenic implications

The field-observed and laboratory-analyzed data from the chosen 2 transects have pedogenically substantiated the geographic differentiation of the S1 pedocomplex that was previously noticed by other researchers and particularly documented the chronological discord between the S1 and the parent material. The pedogenic substantiation of the S1 geographic differentiation cautions that the pedogenic meandering of the particle size distribution within the S1 and probably other pedocomplexes has to be thoroughly understood before a high-resolution climatic reconstruction is attempted
