Abstract

The AA. used the Thornwaite-Mather water budget technique to predict soil moisture under forest canopies, the primary habitat for the tick vectors of Lyme disease bacteria. This information, together with other environmental variables that correlate with tick abundance, could be useful in the formation of a predictive tick-risk warning model
