Abstract

This paper examines the status of flamingo in the Greater Tunis area and the issue of its conservation in the context of increased human influence on wetlands. Special emphasis is given to the analysis of urban impact on Sebkha Essijoumi, underlining, on the one hand, recent environmental dynamics of the water body and its shores and, on the other, the attractiveness of this sebkha for flamingo. In addition, the issue of its conservation in the perspective of sustained urban growth is discussed
